David L. Swanson, M.D.

Dr. David Swanson is a Professor of Dermatology and the Resident Program Director at Mayo Clinic Arizona. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He is Board Certified in Dermatology and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the Executive Board of the International Dermoscopy Society. For two decades he has been the editor of Practical Reviews in Dermatology. He has over 50 publications and lectures internationally on dermoscopy and skin cancer detection, diagnosis, and therapy. Clinical interests include high risk skin cancer monitoring, hyperhidrosis, and psoriasis. Research interests include melanoma epidemiology, automated cancer detection technology, and skin imaging.
